Supportive savings
Saving regularly can bring real peace of mind. Even a small amount set aside can make unexpected costs feel more manageable and give you a confidence boost. We’ve made it simple to put money aside in a way that fits around real life.

How we make saving simple
There are a few ways to save with Wirral Credit Union. You can choose what suits you and change it at any time.
-
Payroll
Save straight from your wages into your Wirral Credit Union savings account so it happens automatically each payday. Many members prefer this, as it removes the need to remember.
-
Standing Order
Set up a regular payment from your bank account, with a minimum of £10 per month. If you’re unsure how to set this up, our team can help through your application process.
-
Child benefit
Grow savings straight from your Child Benefit. Like with payroll, money is added to your Wirral Credit Union savings account before it reaches your bank account.
-
Cash deposits in our branches
If you’d prefer to save in person, you can make cash deposits at either our Poulton Road or Laird Street branches, as often or as little as you’d like.

Why save with us
-
Saving that fits around real life
Saving a regular, affordable amount each week or month is one of the most effective ways to build a habit. Payroll saving means you don’t have to remember to move money each month.
-
Save and borrow side by side
All members save while repaying a loan, which helps to build a buffer for later on.
-
Local and not-for-profit
We look after those who live and work across our common bond. Surplus is reinvested to support members and the wider community, and we aim to pay an annual dividend to eligible members.
-
Support that’s human
Members tell us they feel listened to and not judged. Our team can talk through your options and help you feel more confident with your money.
-
FSCS protected
Your savings are protected up to £120,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), just like with most high street banks.
