What is the Wirral Credit Union Champions Network?

The Credit Union Champions Network brings together local organisations that want to help people access trusted financial support. We provide training and resources so Champions can confidently introduce people to Wirral Credit Union.

How does it work?

When a community group expresses interest in joining the network, Wirral Credit Union will provide training to nominated individuals to become champions. You’ll be able to help new members sign up and guide them on which products and services are available.

Alongside training, we hold network meet-ups and away days as this network grows, so you can meet fellow Champions.

Community involvement 
We’re already working with community organisations, including Neo Community and Wirral Family Hubs.

Invitation 
We would be delighted if any community groups would like to join the Wirral Credit Union Champions Network.

Your role in the community

As community champions for Wirral Credit Union, it’s your responsibility to help more people understand the services available through Wirral Credit Union.

We’re here for all our members. The more people who know about Wirral Credit Union, the more local people we can support.

This role involves:

  • Information points within your selected location 
  • Promoting our services and raising awareness 
  • Handing out leaflets and signposting 
  • Showing people how to join Wirral Credit Union online 
  • Showing people how to make payments to Wirral Credit Union online 

This role doesn’t involve: 

  • Taking payments 
  • Giving individual financial advice, either to members or non-members 
  • Giving loan guarantees 

 

As part of your Wirral Credit Union Champion training, we can arrange an induction session at our head office, where you will be able to look behind the scenes of our day-to-day operations, meet the teams dealing with our members’ requests and enquiries and gain a better understanding of how we support our members every day.

You’ll be given a point of contact within Wirral Credit Union if you ever have any questions about the Credit Union Champions Network.
